Line Shopping

Comparing prices across bookmakers to take the best available number.

Line shopping is the single highest-ROI habit a recreational bettor can adopt. The difference between 1.91 and 2.00 on the same bet is the difference between long-term losing and long-term winning. Multiple accounts are mandatory.

Closing Line Value (CLV)— The difference between the price you took and the market's closing price — the truest test of an edge.
Edge— How much better your estimated probability is than the market's implied probability.
